A decade might have passed since Sivaji Ganesan left this world. But his memories are still green in the minds of cinema lovers in these parts. This was visible at a function held in Chennai on Sunday evening.

A large crowd gathered at the Sri YGP auditorium in T Nagar to inaugurate the "Nadigar Thilagam" Film Appreciation Society, a forum chaired by veteran actor Y Gee Mahendra, to remember the "Nadigar Thilakam" and his contribution to cinema.

Interestingly, the function coincided with the 50th year completion of "Parthal Pasi Theerum", one of the important movies of Sivaji. 

Also starring Gemini Ganesan, Savithri, Sowcar Janaki and B Saroja Devi, the film had Kamal Haasan appearing as a child artist, in a dual role as Babu and Kumar, Gemini's twin sons. 

Speakers at the function including Sivaji's son Ramkumar, Y Gee Mahendra, Sowcar Janaki and Aroor Das, paid rich tributes on Sivaji.
