Biopics are rolling in Bollywood and Richa Chadda is the new name in the league as the 'Daas Dev' actress is all set to play 90's adult star from down South 'Shakeela'. For prepping up for her role and getting the insights of her real life, Richa personally met the 41-year old at Bangalore and talked about her role to a leading daily.
Talking about Shakeela, who is an introvert in real life, Richa said, "Even I am socially awkward but I am comfortable on camera, which is why people feel that I am bold. That's out alternate personality I guess." Whereas the real-life Shakeela said, "I am very shy. What I did was my job." This yet to be titled biopic will be directed by Indrajit Lankesh.
In 90's, Shakeela appeared in many controversial projects in the Southern film industry. 'Kinnara Thumbikal' in Malayalam was one of her most popular films. Speaking about the film Richa told a leading daily, "The film is the story of Shakeela, one of the most famous actors from Malayalam cinema from the 1990s who rose to a spectacular amount of fame. Her fans were spread across Asia and she earned fanfare as a woman which back then was unheard of."
About coming on board for the biopic, Richa concluded "The film's script was exciting and is a great story to tell and the story will make for a great watch for the audience."
