There were reports that Richa Gangopadhyay will be doing an item number in a forthcoming Akshay Kumar film. Reports had it that Richa would be making her debut in Bollywood with an item number in Prabhu Deva-directed "Rowdy Rathore", which is a remake of Ravi Teja's "Vikramarkudu".

However, Richa has denied the reports and was quoted as saying that 'I don't know of any such development. I have neither been approached nor have I given my nod to any item number in "Rowdy Rathore". In fact, I have not met or spoken with Prabhu Deva till date.'

'I am currently not interested in doing any item numbers. I would rather do performances that are balanced with glamour,' she added.

As an aside, Richa shared some trivia with regard to "Rowdy Rathore". She points out that she does have a Vikramarkudu connection. 'I am currently playing the main lead in the Bengali remake of "Vikramarkudu", for which I began shooting a little while back,' she rsaid.

She is paired opposite Prosenjit in this film and Richa is said to be excited that this is a way to rediscover her Bengali roots, especially since she has been living outside India till recently.
