(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Robbie Williams has promised to go on stage naked before he turns 40.

The 36-year-old singer, who recently reunited with his former band Take That, has vowed to re-create a stunt he put on in 1997. The star appeared nude before an audience in Manchester as a joke, but found the experience was actually quite enjoyable.

Robbie explained critics thought he was just trying to get publicity the first time around, but he feels it was the innate naturalist in him trying to break free. He has always loved flashing his flesh in public, and even used to strip off when he was a child.

Doing a moonie is kind of laddish and laughy and jokey but I suppose, deep down, I just want to be naked. Maybe its the innate naturist in me trying to get out. When I was young, I always used to take my pants down and let the wind hit my bum, and my mum would say, Its because he likes the wind hitting his bum, he laughed.
