28th September 2010

(Cover) - EN Fashion - Roberto Cavalli says making clothes today is far more complicated than it used to be.

The iconic Italian designer revealed his Spring/Summer 2011 collection at Milan Fashion Week yesterday, marking his 40th year as a designer.

The 69-year-old says he has loved his lengthy career, although he thinks being a fashion designer nowadays is tougher than it was when he launched himself in the 70s.

To create a collection today is very complicated - the young ones they know everything about fashion, he told British newspaper the Daily Telegraph.

Roberto also finds he gets more emotional before showcasing his collections now hes older. He still gets a massive thrill from organising catwalk shows, but he finds them intensely nerve-wracking.

Oh my God, its fantastic. Honestly today I am emotional. Usually, you know, I have a little bit of... I scare, I scare, he confided.

The Italian star also revealed his favourite post-show beverage, admitting he is rather fond of his countrys famous red wine. Rather than unwind after his premieres, Roberto says he likes to enjoy a few drinks in the company of friends.

I prefer to celebrate it with my friends. Vino rosso - oh my God - you know my taste, I love it! he beamed. (C) Cover Media
