(Cover) - EN Showbiz - The Rolling Stones look set to play the world famous Glastonbury music festival next year.

The legendary British rockers are reportedly considering an offer from organise Michael Eavis to headline the 2013 event.

However, it has also been claimed the act are in no rush to accept the gig, which would be their first appearance at the festival.

"The band are gearing up for a load of live dates but tend to leave big decisions like this until the last minute," a source told British newspaper The Sun. "Michael Eavis is desperate to get the band confirmed and has made initial contact with their people.

"It would be a massive coup to get the band playing Glasto on what could be their last round of live dates. Getting a decision from the whole band can be tough and at the moment they are without an agent for live shows, which is not helping the situation.

"But there is a good chance 2013 will finally be the year they make it."

The band comprising of Sir Mick Jagger, Ronnie Wood, Keith Richards and Charlie Watts - are set to announce a series of shows in London and New York next week, following the release of their new track Doom and Gloom yesterday.

Other acts being lined up to perform on the iconic Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury next June include Mumford & Sons. The British folk group fronted by actress Carey Mulligan's husband Marcus Mumford - are currently enjoying global success with their second album Babel. (C) Cover Media
