Russell Brand smells fresh on set

14th August 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Russell Brand’s assistant sprayed him with air freshener when he started sweating on the set of his new film.

The British actor plays the lead character Arthur in the upcoming film of the same name, which is a remake of the 1981 movie starring Dudley Moore. Arthur is a rich playboy with a penchant for alcohol who falls in love with a woman his family detests.

Russell has worked hard to get in shape for the movie, and is determined to look as good on camera as possible. He has taken to exercising between takes to stop himself becoming bored, and relies on his assistant to ensure he always smells fresh.

“While shooting in Central park he did push-ups between takes – in 90 degree Fahrenheit weather,” a source told National Enquirer. “Russell’s assistant handled the stinky situation by spraying him with Febreze.”

The freshener is usually spritzed on fabrics such as curtains and sofas to help get rid of clinging smells. Russell found it funny though, admitting something was needed to curb his pong.

“Well, it smells rather good all of a sudden,” he is quoted as saying. (C) Cover Media
