(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Russell Brand is being sued by a man who claims the comedian drove into him in Los Angeles.

The 37-year-old star is accused of driving "negligently" when he allegedly struck Victor Sneed with his vehicle in January, TMZ reports.

The plaintiff claims he suffered personal injury, property damage, lost wages and incurred hospital bills as a result of the incident.

Court documents filed in Los Angeles Superior Court do not detail his alleged injuries.

He is suing for more than $25,000.

Russell has yet to comment on the lawsuit.

It's not the first of his legal woes.

The Forgetting Sarah Marshall star in March turned himself into police after a warrant was issued for his arrest. He was wanted for allegedly snatching an iPhone from a photographer and throwing it through a window while walking down a street in New Orleans.

He plead not guilty to misdemeanour criminal damage.

Russell was ordered to pay $500 in court fees and perform 20 hours of community service. (C) Cover Media
