(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Sandra Bullock is offering support to newly single George Clooney, claims a source.

The 46-year-old Hollywood actress and 50-year-old movie hunk George have been shooting sci-fi thriller Gravity together in London, and are known to be close pals.

George has been in the headlines this week with news that he and girlfriend of two years Elisabetta Canalis have broken up, and sources claim Sandra who split from husband Jessie James last year - has been a shoulder to cry on.

"They are very close and she will hate to see George hurting. They have also been through the mill relationship-wise. They will be there for each other," an insider told British newspaper The Mirror.

Last month Sandra and George were photographed together on set alongside the actress' two-year-old adopted son Louis. The stars have been working hard on the movie, which is set for release in 2012 and tells the story of a survivor of a space mission trying to return to Earth.

Apparently Elisabetta had been looking forward to spending time with George during his time off from the film prior to the split.

"Last week I was with Elisabetta the whole day filming and she must have had about 60 text messages from George. I said to her, Darling, stop, otherwise we will never finish here.'

"She was so excited about meeting him as he had a few days off from shooting his film in London," Alfonso Signorini, Elisabetta's friend and editor of Chi magazine is quoted as saying. (C) Cover Media
