Its that time of the year again... Fun & Frolic, singing and dancing... It is Christmas Time! And of course time for all the Christmas-related movies.
You know Christmas is upon us when the big guy in the red suit hits the screen. SANTA’S APPRENTICE, an animation film for children aged between two and nine which is an English-French-Australian-Belgian created film will be having a DVD release on December 13.
Santa doesn't want to retire, but rules are rules and he must train someone to replace him. The lucky winner, to be chosen from among millions of children, must be named Nicholas, be an orphan and have a pure heart. On the other side of the planet, there is a little boy who is a perfect match, but his lack of self-confidence and fear of heights make him a poor contestant. Will Santa agree to step down, and help his apprentice take his place? That is the basic plot of the movie.
The film favours traditional storybook style animation over anything flashy. It may be simple but it is stylishly beautiful with hand-drawn, watercolours scenes that hark back to animations from years gone by.
Instead of releasing in the theatres, the film will be having a DVD release in India. So this Christmas you can sit at home and enjoy Santa's Apprentice right in the warmth of your home.
