31st December 2010

December 31, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Shia LaBeouf and Oliver Stone might just team up together for an investigative war film based on the March 1968 'My Lai massacre' of the Vietnam War. The project is called Pinkville and Stone has revealed that the young actor has shown interest to work in the film. If Stone and LaBeouf teams up for Pinkville it will be the second time that they will work together. First they had teamed up for the flick Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps.

Previously in 2007, Stone was eager to start work on the film Pinkville with a cast like Bruce Willis, Michael Pena, Michael Pitt, Woody Harrelson, Xzinit, Cam Gigandet, Jason Behr, Toby Jones and Channing Tatum. Now the buzz is LaBeouf will step in Tatums shoes if the film is made. Oliver Stone had to abandon the project at that time due to the Writers Guild strike but the subject of the masscare has always intrigued him.

Shia has shown quite an interest to portray the role of the helicopter pilot of the US Army, Hugh Thompson. He will investigate the killing of the unarmed civilians of Vietnam by the US soldiers after discovering piles of bodies in the ditches of the hamlet of My Lai. In the 1968 massacre, around 500 helpless civilians got killed along with two dozen US soldiers. Thompson when reported this incident to his superiors he was flaked but later on was given the Soldiers Medal for putting an end to it.

It is not known when the project will go on floor but LaBeoufs interest to be part of the project also raise from the fact that his father was a Vietnam veteran as a helicopter pilot.
