Shiv Pandit bags 'Meet The Patels'

18th October 2014

Bollywood actor Shiv Pandit rose to fame with the popular television serial 'FIR' and was later seen in Anurag Kashyap's 'Shaitan' and Akshay Kumar's 'Boss'.

And now we hear that the actor has been signed by Saurabh Varma for his upcoming film titled 'Meet The Patels'.

The film is based on the lives of two Gujarati boys residing in Mumbai, who know how to live life to the fullest and would do anything to get their love of life except hard work. While Shiv plays the very odd Tom Patel, the filmmaker is yet to rope in an actor for Jerry Patel's role.

Shiv says, "I loved the script that had me in splits during the narration. Also, I am a big fan of the clean comedy genre, something I have not tried before on the big screen."

Saurabh Varma says he chose the actor because of his comic timing in FIR which is remembered even today after Shiv has quit the show long back, adding that in 'Meet the Patels', Shiv will portray a character who is quirky and identifiable with the youth.

Raj Mallik, Vice President-Production at Krian Media, the producers of the film says, "Shiv Pandit has been a great choice for the film and we feel he has the range to portray the comic shades of the lead character, with aplomb."

The film goes on floors on November 1st and will be released on April 24th next year.
