Simon Pegg: Girl geeks are great

4th February 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Simon Pegg says he finds girl geeks more attractive than models.

The British actor married his wife Maureen in 2005 and the couple have a young daughter together. Simon is often described as nerdy due to his roles in movies such as Run Fatboy, Shaun of the Dead and How to Lose Friends & Alienate People. He insists he has no problem being labelled a geek because he finds shyer, funny people far more interesting than loud, confident beautiful individuals.

Girl geeks are a whole new phenomenon. Theyre far funkier than male geeks, I think. Id much rather hang out with a nerdy girl than a model, he said in an interview with the British edition of Glamour magazine. Ive done shoots with models and, sure, theres not often much else there. I like rounded girls with a good sense of humour.

I love Audrey Tautou in Amelie. Shes so gorgeous, shy and awkward. The girls who take off their glasses and then shake out their hair really do it for me. The Ooh, I never knew girls. Plus us guys genuinely do feel threatened by really gorgeous girls.

Simon starred alongside Megan Fox in How to Lose Friends & Alienate People and was surprised by how well they got along. He has revealed she is very different from what he had expected and they spent hours discussing a range of his favourite topics.

Megan Fox is actually pretty geeky; shes one person to look at and a whole other to meet, he explained. Ive got a very fraternal relationship with Kristen Dunst, who is great friends with my wife, so I feel pretty protective of her. (C) Cover Media
