(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Susan Boyle says fame sits firmly on her shoulders now, even though it took a while to get used to.

The Scottish singer burst onto the scene after auditioning for TV show Britains Got Talent in 2009. She appeared looking slightly confused and dishevelled, but blew people away with her rendition of I Dreamed A Dream from musical Les Misrables. The performance catapulted her to worldwide fame after it was posted on video sharing website YouTube, with celebrities such as Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher gushing about her.

Susans rise to fame was so quick she began experiencing difficulties, and was treated at The Priory clinic in the UK as she became so exhausted.

The star is now in fine health, and promoting her festive album The Gift. She admits becoming well known took some getting used to, but she is proud of what shes achieved.

I thought Id done my best, I thought Id made some impression but I didnt know how much, she explained. From the very beginning its been like a rollercoaster. When things like that happen so quickly you cant really take it in, it happened like an explosion. It can be a problem to adapt but it sits very firmly on my shoulders now.

The Gift includes seasonal tracks such as The First, O Holy Night and Away in a Manger and Susan thinks it has broad appeal. She especially likes the name, as it sums up the way she views singing.

The album consists of Christmas songs, Perfect Day, Hallelujah, Dont Dream Its Over which originated from Crowded House, she told the BBC. Its very restful and very easy to listen to. The Gift is what it says its the gift of music at Christmas, its a specialised album and I happen to think its a gift for everybody. (C) Cover Media
