Susan Boyle has kept her old house because she wants to remain grounded.
The Scottish star shot to fame in 2009 after appearing in the television show Britain's Got Talent. She has since gone on to release three albums which have been worldwide hits.
Despite her fame and wealth, Susan still spends time at the house where she was raised. She has bought another, bigger property nearby but doesn't want to forget where she came from.
"Well it's a council house, but it is where my mum and dad lived," she explained on a UK television show. "You go to where your roots are, because if you don't do that you don't become grounded. So it's the old Susan Boyle versus the new Susan Boyle."
Susan regularly travels the world to perform for her fans. The 50-year-old admits she regularly feels homesick and longs for her favourite foods.
"I think probably my sausages and plain bread," she replied when asked what she misses most about home.
Susan still can't believe how much her life has changed.
Although it can be overwhelming at times, she loves to perform. The star revealed one of her wishes for the future is to continue entertaining her fans for years to come.
"I would like to continue singing and making people happy," she smiled. "I will be very content if I can do that."
