Feels incomplete, many loopholes, no connection to the Dragon Tattoo, yet, good!

I finished reading the Harry Potter series at least 10 times each before their movies, I readP.S. I Love You and then saw the movie, Twilight series fascinated me to the core andLOTR (Lord of the rings) was simply out-of-the-world. But not all of these movies could create the same magic for me unlike their books. Never have I seen a movie adapted from a book, without reading it, but everything has an exception... For the first time ever I was simply a spectator and not a reader-turned-spectator.  So this time I didn't have to struggle thinking how the movie will be received by the non-readers... 'Coz as a movie, David Fincher's The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is extremely well-made.

A social misfit with highly specialized detective skills, Lisabeth (Rooney Mara) is struggling with her nightmarish life. Her personal life is traumatic least to say... Her guardian, a psychopathic sexual offender abuses this orphaned child each time she needs money. But as a professional detective, she is extremely skilled.

Mikael Blomkvist (Daniel Craig), a financial investigative journalist has been struggling a lawsuit because of his explosive article on a Wennerstrom (Ulf Friberg), a huge business magnet. Mikael's investigative skills are extremely accurate and Henrik Vagner (Christopher Plummer), Wennerstrom's business rival recognizes this gem. He hires Mikael to do some "digging-into-his-family-history" and a tragedy which took place some 40 years ago.

Lisabeth & Mikael are destined to meet and when two skilled investigators meet, it is impossible that the case won't get solved.

The movie has so many undertones to it apart from the main "Rebecca Case" yet all have been dealt with expertly. Daniel Craig is extremely good and his portrayal of the character is beautifully done. Rooney Mara, the female-version of Daniel Craig has a blank face throughout the movie yet, she is so convincing and you can totally feel for her. Rest of the cast is alright and supports the two leads very well.

Acting, background score, picturisation is perfect yet there is something missing about this movie. The movie is very long at almost two and half hours and you might lose attention at times. The plot also is pretty much predictable towards the end and the makers have been unable to hold the suspense for too long. Lisabeth & her guardian's encounters are tense and chilling but they are also extremely violent and explicit. The movie tries to take a huge leap but doesn't quite manage to touch the sky.

If you are weak-hearted, hate violence and are not a mystery fan, avoid this movie, otherwise it is a good movie in the sense of pure entertainment.
