The Situation on for new Jersey Shore'

17th May 2012

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino has been signed to star in another season of Jersey Shore - although his on-going legal battle with Abercrombie & Fitch could scupper his plans.

The reality TV star admitted himself into the Cirque Lodge rehab facility several weeks ago to "get control of a prescription medication problem".

Because of his struggles, many speculated that the 29-year-old wouldn't return to the popular MTV series. However, Mike has confirmed he will be taking part in season six of the show.

The star told US website TMZ that the network has "tapped him to return for another season" which tapes from May 22 to July 7.

Mike is required to be "present at the Jersey Shore house 24/7" - so an impending court date with Abercrombie & Fitch could pose a problem for him.

The star recently filed new legal documents in his on-going battle with the retailer recently. Legal wrangling began when the clothing company asked the Jersey Shore stars not to wear its pieces as they feared it would cause a drop in sales. Mike has alleged the firm cheated him by using his nickname The Situation and his catchphrase GTL (meaning Gym, Tan, Laundry) in a line of mocking T-shirts.

In the new documents, Mike has asked the judge to let him miss a court appearance which is scheduled for June 14.

A decision about the court date issue has yet to be made. (C) Cover Media
