(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Usher says he is pleased to touch so many people with his charity work.

The R&B star has been named the new face of Belvedere Vodkas social cause campaign that donates half of all profits from a new special-edition bottle, RED, to fight HIV/AIDS in Africa.

The partnership kicks off today at a pre-Grammy party in LA and Usher is glad he can combine his passion for music with helping others.

Its always good to be involved with something that touches so many people in one night as an artist, Usher said on British television show Lorraine. It is a choice to do the Grammys and to be associated with that. For me its an opportunity for me not only to support my artist, but to give people a glimpse of what they can look forward to.

The singer who is ranked as one of the best-selling artists in American music history - has never been shy of getting involved in charity ventures.

Usher founded New Look, a non-profit charity organisation which aims to "provide young people with a new look on life through education and real-world experience". In 2006, the charity started an initiative called Our Block, which helped to rebuild city blocks in New Orleans.

In 2005, Usher also signed on for a Hurricane Katrina relief concert.

The star has revealed he is now looking forward to getting involved with more charity work.

I am joining the fight against AIDs and HIV in Africa. What RED has done has been incredible for the last however many years, he said. When I thought about getting involved with the philanthropic effort in Africa, I thought about RED specifically and I thought, This could be great. (C) Cover Media
