Vanessa Lachey has gushed about her husband Nick as they get ready for the arrival of their first baby.

The pregnant television personality says that the former boy band singer is being just as maternal as she is.

Speaking to Parade magazine, Vanessa said that she was not the only one in preparation mode for their bundle of joy.

"I've been a little consumed with work," Vanessa shared. "But the interesting thing I've noticed is my husband is nesting. I always thought it was the woman but he's doing his little nesting part too."

Vanessa said that Nick has been putting together furniture and doing his share around the house.

"He's a good Cincinnati, mid-western boy," she said. "He does the dishes, he does his laundry, and we share all the duties in the house. We realise it's a partnership. It's not 50-50. It's 100 percent on my end and 100 percent on his end."

Vanessa also revealed what makes their relationship work after nearly six years together.

"We all react and say things but it's all about coming back and saying you're sorry," she revealed. "It's about knowing this is the person you will be married to for the rest of your life. There is nothing unforgivable, he is my partner."
