Vijay has established himself as the box office king once again, with his Deepavali release 'Velayudham', which hit the screens on Wednesday, creating new collection records. "All the theatres in Tamil Nadu reported 100 per cent opening." says a distributor.
He adds: "Things have changed a lot these days and the number of people coming to theatres has considerably reduced. Velayudham, a typical messaiah of the masses storyline laced with comedy, has brought back the old magic. Multiplexes have reported full bookings for the next one week."
Produced by Aascar Films V Ravichandran, 'Velayudham' directed Jayam M Raja has Genelia D'Souza and Hansika Motwani as female leads. 'Vijay fans thoroughly enjoy the film. They celebrated Deepavali in front of theatres screening Velayudham, by bursting crackers and conducting paal abishekams,' sources say.
In Vijay's very own words, 'Velayudham is my Deepavali gift to my fans. It is one of my very few movies which are close to my heart. My thanks to director Raja for shaping it up as a complete entertainer which would be enjoyed by one and all.'
Well, we wish Vijay keeps bestowing us with such gifts.
