Victoria Beckham thought fame would stop her feeling "empty" when she was young.
The 37-year-old star had a hard time at school as she was picked on by other children and struggled to make friends.
She eventually realised singing and dancing made her feel better. She dreamt of being famous and was thrilled to win a place in the Spice Girls alongside Mel B, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton and Mel C.
"When I was young I thought fame would protect me from feeling empty, from feeling I was nothing," she admitted.
The star soon realised that being a celebrity doesn't stop people judging you. She's endured years of criticism about her singing voice, with people also being sceptical when she started a career in fashion.
Victoria's clothes line has gone down a storm though and she now wishes she'd paid less attention to the bullies when she was growing up.
"If I could go back in time I would tell my teenage self to have more confidence," she told the British edition of OK! magazine. "Listen to your inner voice not the comments that other people make."
