Victoria Beckham rethought Paris move'

10th January 2012

Victoria Beckham "followed her head" when deciding whether her family should stay in Los Angeles, it has been reported.

The singer-turned-fashion-designer's soccer star husband David recently turned down the opportunity to play for French soccer team Paris Saint-Germain for "family reasons".

He was in negotiations to move to the French team after his five year contract with LA Galaxy ended on December 31. However, David decided against the move as it would cause too much upset for his family.

Now a source has revealed that Victoria's mind was also changed as she didn't want to uproot her three young boys and her five-month-old daughter.

"Initially, Victoria was against [the move to Paris], but she really came around to the idea of commuting from London to Paris and by Christmas, was super-excited about it. She was dying to be nearer to her family, friends and fashion headquarters in London, plus she loved the idea of setting up something in Paris maybe even a shop," a source close to the star told Closer magazine.

"They were both excited about a fresh chapter, coinciding with their new baby girl, but the boys were really upset by the possibility of leaving their school and friends. In the end, after changing their minds constantly over New Year, they agreed they had to follow their heads and not their hearts, so it's LA for another year at least."

The couple have sons Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, nine, Cruz, six and baby Harper together and are all settled in Los Angeles.

A friend close to the couple has revealed they're remaining positive about their decision to stay in America.

"Of course they're both [upset] in some ways. David will be in the UK for his Olympic commitments, so that was another plus for Vic if they were both in London, they'd see a lot more of each other," the source revealed.
