In 2015 fashion designer Vikram Phadnis will complete 25 years in the industry and will celebrate it by turning a film director.

Vikram has roped in Bipasha Basu to play a modern day mom in his directorial debut, which will be shot in Melbourne next year. Along with it, he has signed a two film deal with an Australian company.

While the first film is a simple story and second one is high in entertainment quotient and is scheduled to roll post Diwali. Vikram said, "Many have asked me why I didn't debut with the second subject. I wanted to tell a simple, straight-from-the-heart story first. I'm confident it'll strike a chord and establish my credentials as a director before I enter a space people don't expect to see me in. I believe content is King... and Queen, going by the success of Vikas Bahl's film."

Rana Daggubati and Bipasha are finalised for the lead role. Composers Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy have recorded the first song in Shankar Mahadevan's voice.

Vikram says, "Ever since I heard their compositions in Kal Ho Na Ho and Karthik Calling Karthik, I have wanted them to score for my first film. Their songs are not a visual break but they take the story forward."

He further adds that he will take a break from his designing profession to solely concentrate on the film.
