Watson and Grint top earning screen couple

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Emma Watson and Rupert Grint are the top earning on-screen couple, according to Forbes.

The publication has announced that the duo have earned $4.2 billion at the box office in the past five years.

The pair starred together in the Harry Potter series as the young wizard's best friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger.

Forbes compiled statistics from Box Office Mojo to calculate box office earnings for actors and actresses who appeared as romantic couples in the past five years.

Since 2007 Rupert and Emma have appeared in the last four films from the hit series.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart finished in second place for their roles in the Twilight series. The duo, who are also believed to be a real-life couple, play Edward Cullen and Bella Swan in the vampire romance.

They have made $2.5 billion worldwide in the last five years with four films from the Twilight saga.

The final movie in the series The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part Two has yet to be released.

The third couple in the list are Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox for their roles in the Transformers series. The pair starred in the first two Transformers films, which brought in $1.5billion at cinemas.

In the third film Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Megan was replaced by British model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

Fourth place went to Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow for their portrayals of Tony Stark and Pepper Potts in the two Iron Man films. Together the movies made $1.2 billion at the box office.

The pair will appear together again in upcoming superhero movie The Avengers. (C) Cover Media
