A. R. Rahman performs at Oscars

28th February 2012

Music maestro A. R. Rahman has become an inevitable part of Oscars in the recent years. The Mozart of Madras, who had performed at the Academy awards last year, returned to the prestigious ceremony this year too, as a part of the Oscars band.

Rahman, who won two Oscars in 2009 for Danny Boyle directed "Slumdog Millionaire", enthralled the audience throughout Sunday night's ceremony with his instrumentals and vocals. He had performed his tracks from the film 127 Hours.

Earlier in the day, the music composer wrote on his page on a popular social networking site: 'Oscar sangamam - If you are watching the Oscars live, catch our Oscar superband headed by Hans Zimmer perform tonight.'

Other performances at the prestigious ceremony included Esperanza Spalding's rendition of Louis Armstrong's 'What a wonderful world' as a tribute to the entertainers who died recently.
