September 24, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Bipasha Basu and Ajay Devgn starrer 'Aakrosh' is facing the cuts from Censor Board. The film has been suggested multiple cuts by the censor.
However, this has not well accepted by the director Priyadarshan and producer Kumar Mangat. The two find the cuts unjustified and are very displeased at this decision of the board. They will soon approach the revising committee for the movie.
A source close to the production house was quoted saying that Priyadarshan and Mangat are unhappy with the suggested cuts. They are not prepared to accept the U/A certificate offered by the Censor board, added the source.
On the other hand, Alpana Sharma, the regional Officer of the Censor Board was quoted saying that said the makers are not ready to accept some cuts recommended by the examining committee. She said that the film contains certain derogatory comments about the CBI and some about women. Sharma added that it also has references of people's castes so it is up to the makers if they want to request to the revising committee.
The film is set to hit the theaters on October 8, so the makers are left with very little time. Apart from Bipasha and Ajay, the film also stars Akshaye Khanna, Paresh Rawal and Reema Sen in the lead roles. The movie deals with the honour killings in the state of Haryana.
Mangat is producing the movie under the banner of Big Screen Entertainer. Renowned music director Pritam has composed the music, which has lyrics by Irshad Kamil.
