Heroines, who have earned fame and money in Kannada films, quite often head to Chennai or Hyderabad to flourish in Tamil or Telugu films. Some click while others fail.

  In the case of Aindrita Ray, the heroine of films like'Meravanige','Manasaare','Manasina Mathu' and'Junglee', was selected for a Tamil film opposite actor Nakul. This was under the direction of John Mahendran. A photo shoot and a few days of shooting were held. She was rejected on grounds of not fitting the role and lack of talent.

  Reacting to this ouster, Aindrita Ray says that she received a sms in appreciation of her talent from director John. "I have acted in nearly 10 Kannada films. Suddenly being taken out of the team is unacceptable. John has not proved anything in his profession. He has made flopped films in his career. He should know his limits", piqued Aindrita Ray.  

Back home, Aindrita Ray is known as'slap gate'. Director Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar had slapped her face when she was late for the shooting of his Kannada film,'Nooru Janmaku' film.
