(Cover) - EN Star Style - Alex Kingston has revealed she refused to wear jeans when she was a teenager due to low self-esteem.

The 47-year-old actress made her name playing Dr Elizabeth Corday in US hospital series ER. Born in England, Alex managed to break the lucrative American market with her reoccurring role in the medical drama and has also enjoyed roles in films such as Alpha Dog and television series Hope Springs.

Alex has a fantastic figure, although she admits she often had hang-ups regarding her body image when she was younger and thus avoided wearing tight fitting jeans. I dont think I owned a pair of jeans until I left drama school, because I was so bothered about my shape, she told Closer magazine.

The beautiful star used to aspire to be like waif-like models. She has now come to accept the size and shape of her body as part of her identity.

I wanted to have a beanpole figure but now I accept Ill never have long, willowy limbs and thats just who I am, she added. (C) Cover Media
