(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Plans to create a life-size bronze statue of Amy Winehouse are being considered.

The singer died at her home in North London in July 2011 after an alcohol binge. The Roundhouse music venue in Camden - near Amy's house - is set to pay tribute to the late star by commissioning a monument.

"We think it's important that Amy's contribution to music is recognised in Camden, but the idea is in its early stages of development at the moment," a spokesman for the venue said.

Amy spent a lot of time in Camden and was involved with the area's music scene.

The Rehab singer's father Mitch Winehouse thinks the statue would be a fitting tribute to the star.

"It will be bronze, life-size, and on the first-floor balcony next to the Roundhouse bar," he told British newspaper the Camden New Journal. "What we'd like to have is Amy leaning over the balcony and looking, and perhaps pointing, towards Camden Town from Chalk Farm Road."

It was recently revealed that Amy's 2.7 million home is to be sold.

It was initially believed the property would be kept by the Winehouse family, but apparently it is too much of a reminder of what they have lost.
