'Auro 3D' sound for Vishwaroopam

23rd September 2012

Kamal Hassan's forthcoming movie Vishwaroopam is setting a standard in audio in Indian cinema. The multilingual movie is bringing in a new sound technology to India where, for the first time, our audience will get to hear the 3D audio.

The sound format called Auro 3D is being adopted for 'Vishwaroopam'. It is a complicated task of converting the sound into to the new technology, which has delayed the release of the movie. The latest technology has been implemented in George Lucas' Hollywood movie Red Tails. It is the only movie in the world that is converted to Auro 3D and 'Vishwaroopam' becomes the second film.

Kamal Hassan has reportedly convinced around 20-25 theatres in Tamil Nadu and Mumbai to upgrade the sound system to Auro 3D. According to him, the latest technology is the revolutionary format, which could be the future of the sound system.

Meanwhile, the conversion process is delaying the release of 'Vishwaroopam'. The movie, which was supposed to release in November, will hit the screens in January 2013. The movie is a spy-thriller starring Kamal, Pooja Kumar, Andrea Jeremiah, Rahul Bose and others in the cast. In addition to writing the story, screenplay and dialogues, he has taken the responsibility of directing the movie.
