(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Brittany Murphy's mother Sharon has filed a lawsuit to prove that her daughter did not die from natural causes.

The Los Angeles Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter stated that the Hollywood star had passed away in 2009 due to acute pneumonia, severe anaemia and multiple drug intoxication.

Brittany died two years ago today at the age of 32 and her husband Simon Monjack died of similar ailments five months later.

But TMZ reports that Sharon is blaming the construction company that built Brittany's home saying that it was the toxic mould in the Hollywood mansion that killed her only child and son-in-law.

She has filed a new malpractice lawsuit against her former attorneys claiming they misled her into giving up her rights to sue the builders for wrongful death.

Sharon claims that she was persuaded to accept a settlement offer for the construction issues and wasn't told that the paperwork she signed meant she would never be able to sue the builders for their alleged part in her daughter's death.

She is now trying to win what financial settlement she would have been awarded in a wrongful death suit. (C) Cover Media
