Chennai celebrates Rahman's entry into Golden Globe
15th December 2010
The Chennaites are set in moods of celebration as the Madras Mozart has once again made it into Golden Globe awards. A.R. Rahman has been nominated for 'Best Original Score' for his '127 Hours'. Unlike last time with 'Slumdog Millionaire', A.R. Rahman has been nominated only for 'Best Original score', while he is out of 'Best Song Category'.
'Best Original Score' some of the other biggest names like Desplat ('The King's Speech'), Danny Elfman ('Alice in Wonderland'), Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross ('The Social Network'), and Hans Zimmer ('Inception').
It is worth mentioning that the soundtracks of 'Inception' and 'Alice in the Wonderland' were biggest hits in India as well. A.R. Rahman has been receiving more appreciations from Hollywood celebrities including the American mountaineer Aron Ralston, who penned letter of appreciation to Rahman that he would have spent another 127 Hours in canyon if he had his soundtracks with him.
