Clint Eastwood tired of unoriginal movies

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Clint Eastwood believes modern films lack originality.

The film legend has received major plaudits for his directing ability, as well as his acting skills over a 50 year film and television career. The 80-year-old has significantly increased his directorial output as he has aged, but remains determined not to dilute his productions in order to reach the lowest common denominator.

Asked if its more important for him to deliver entertaining movies rather than films with a message, Clint confirmed it was a delicate balance.

Its a combination. Youre trying to get the message over but you hope its done in an entertaining way. In my early days I did a lot of stories for the adventurous thing. But now Im trying to make them for adults, hoping young people will appreciate the thoughts, he told Total Film magazine.

Clint does believe however that the standard of film making has decreased over the years. He bemoans the lack of variety appearing in the cinema where film sequels and familiar storylines rule the roost.

I miss the era I grew up in, where you had different subjects all the time and not every movie had to be a sequel or a remake, he added. (C) Cover Media
