(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Colin Farrell says starring in Fright Night is "triple uncool".
The Irish actor plays a deadly vampire in the upcoming remake of the 1985 horror movie.
Colin has joked that prior to reading to script, he was unconvinced about how credible the role would be.
"A Remake, how uncool. A vampire film, how double uncool. And 3D, how triple uncool," he laughed in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
"I loved the original, I really did, when I saw it, 10, 11, 12 years of age. I loved it and I saw it many times after that, and so I was dubious as well to how unwise it may be [to do a remake] - and I read it and I loved it."
Colin says the part was easy to play. The hunky star says portraying an immortal vampire gave him a lot of scope to use his imagination while filming.
"It was just F-U-N, unadulterated, child-like fun. It really was," he explained.
"There was no major emotional or psychological weight to it. I was playing a character who wasn't bound by any human characteristics."
Colin has given his verdict about who would win a fight between his Fright Night character and Robert Pattinson's hugely popular character Edward Cullen from The Twilight Saga. The 35-year-old star diplomatically settled the dispute.
"It depends. If it was for a pint of blood, I'd say Jerry, and if it was for the love of a woman, I'd say Edward would probably have him," he said.
The story follows teenager Charlie Brewster, living with his single mom, who learns that his new next door neighbour, Jerry Dandridge is a vampire. (C) Cover Media
