Conditional bail for Chiranjeevi's son-in-law

4th August 2011

The Nampally XIII additional chief metropolitan magistrate D Hemanth Kumar has granted conditional bail to actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi's son-in-law Sirish Bharadwaj asking him to appear before Central Crime Station (CCS) police once a week.

He was directed to appear before the CCS officials until investigation is over. Sirish is facing charges under the 498-A (dowry harassment) of the IPC.

During the investigation, the police learnt that Srija used to send SMSes to her friends and parents whenever she was depressed due to marital problems, especially after physical attacks. During the sangeet function of Allu Arjun's marriage at Taj Krishna, Sirish reportedly came drunk to the venue and created a scene by asking his wife to come out of the venue.

After his surrender before the court last week, CCS sleuths filed a petition before the court asking for a five-day police custody of the accused. In response to the petition filed by the CCS women police station officials, the XIII additional chief metropolitan magistrate on Friday granted a two-day police custody of Sirish.

After the custody was over, the court has now granted conditional bail to him.
