Court issues notice to Genelia

20th April 2012

The High Court of Andhra Pradesh has ordered notice to Genelia D’Souza in a criminal petition, challenging an order of the lower court, deleting her name from an array of accused in a complaint against a real estate firm of which she is a brand ambassador.

The court was dealing with a petition Tirupathaiah filed regarding his purchase of a duplex house from real estate company Anjaniputra Infrastructure Pvt Ltd (APiPL).

The court asked for April 25 appearance of Genelia, a popular actress in many Indian languages, to explain why her name should not be included in the first information report (FIR).

Justice K C Bhanu admitted the criminal petition Wednesday and posted the hearing to April 25. Chatta Tirupathaiah, a retired employee, alleged in his plea that the actress represented the company, Anjaniputra Infrastructure Pvt Ltd, as its brand ambassador and was also one of its directors.
