(Cover) - -No story type selected- - Dannii Minogue says the room "almost started spinning" when Valentino complimented her on one of her dress designs.

The Australian star has label Project D with her friend Tabitha Somerset Webb. She debuted many of their creations on UK talent TV show The X Factor, which she judged, last year. Dannii has recalled the very first time she wore a Project D frock on the programme, legendary designer Valentino was in the audience.

The dress was black, with a fitted corset and full, tiered skirt. Luckily for Dannii, the designer was a huge fan.

"Yes, Valentino! Himself. The Last Emperor. That Valentino! He came backstage afterwards and said he really admired my dress. The room almost started spinning. I wasn't sure I had the guts to own up to it being my own work. In the end, I did and he was so gracious. It was an absolute moment!" she told the British edition of Grazia magazine.

Tabitha had a successful accessories business before starting Project D. While Dannii doesn't have as much practical experience as her partner, she still brings a lot to the business as she knows what makes a dress comfortable and wearable.

"I have worn dresses in the glare of public scrutiny," she explained. "I know how a great dress needs to work. I want to know, for example, what it is with designers and sleeves? Why is it so hard to buy a dress that flatters your arms?" (C) Cover Media
