FEFSI reacts sharply to TFPC

25th January 2012

Kollywood is in for a tough challenge as the battle between Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) and Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) aggravated on Tuesday, with the latter sharply reacting to a decision by the former.

An emergency meeting of FEFSI took place in Chennai on Tuesday, to discuss Monday's decision by TFPC that producers can rope in workers who are not members of Film Employees Federation of South India.

After hectic discussions, FEFSI passed a strong resolution which alleged that TFPC had been spreading false rumours about the federation and it should withdraw them. FEFSI said that there is ‘no film industry without workers.’

Speaking to reporters, FEFSI office-bearers Ramadurai, Siva, Shanmugam and directors Ameer and Jananathan said even after five years, the salary of its workers remain the same which is unfair.
