(Cover) - EN Fashion - Fergie says she wanted to burst with excitement when she began work on her debut fragrance.

The Black Eyed Peas singer recently launched her debut perfume Outspoken with the beauty retailer Avon, and says that for two years she struggled not to tell anyone about it.

Every time the star gave an interview she wanted to discuss the fragrance, but the project had to remain top-secret while trials were underway.

I had to keep my big mouth shut for two years and every interview I just wanted to burst out and tell people about the updates and where it was going and what the notes were going to be and how I was changing it and I couldnt say anything, so that was ironic, she laughed in an interview with People magazine.

Fergie went on to discuss her decision to stop wearing the eyebrow ring she is well known for, saying she was keen to try a fresh look.

Ive always been really into piercings, she admitted. [There] was a time that I really felt naked without the piercings. And, you know, it was time for a change, explained the singer.

Fergie says that although she feels comfortable with her looks nowadays, she recalls how her high school days were not as glamorous. The star now sports a slick style but admits she used to have an 80s perm which she spent hours styling every day.

There are many pictures of me from high school and I had the spiral perm and I scrunched my hair.

I would take two hours sometimes to do my hair before school, which is ridiculous. Teasing my bangs up to six inches high, she revealed. (C) Cover Media
