"I look at myself as a commodity": John Abraham

24th December 2012

Post the success of his film 'Force', John Abraham has emerged as an action star with a body to die for.

Though he was always praised for his chiseled physique, it was only last year that his body was looked upon as an action star's main USP. Since then he has been working aggressively hard to get action films and perform at par expectations.

John has shot for action films like 'Shootout at Wadala' and 'Race 2' in recent times confessed that there have been times when his body gave up.

"While shooting for Race 2 I had number of injuries. Once my back was bleeding, I had a 14-inch gash. I cracked my shin bone and navicular bone in the ankle area. I had to take a two-week break from action," said John.

He confesses that it was a conscious decision to move away from the chocolate boy image.

"I look at myself as a commodity. Cinema is a visual medium. I want to draw a balance between my sex appeal and the rawness of the stunts I perform. I like being edgy. Normal is boring," added John who pays special attention to his body.

"I train and eat differently for every film. My body is like a machine. When you are muscled, achieving flexibility is not easy," declared John.
