Success does wonders for the stars in Bollywood!
It gives them the power to have a dictate and hold the reigns of their career which is no longer at the disposal of the industry. And the latest star to experience this leisure is Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut.
The actress, who swept the nation off its feet with her performance in 'Queen', recently confessed that the industry is more kind to her now.
The actress, who always took decisions going by her gut, exclaims that the success of 'Queen' has given her the much-needed freedom to make decisions on her own.
It was this liberty that gave her the power to keep films on hold and go for a scriptwriting course in New York, when offers had flooded her doorstep.
Kangana says that she is now experiencing a new high and is driven by her desires.
"I am trying to do things I really want to; as opposed to things I am expected to do. I am consciously making that change - I'm working on my own terms," said the 27-year-old actor.
She adds that the success has not only given her the freedom to make her own decisions, but has also changed the way people look at her now.
"It's not like people have suddenly started saying, 'Oh you are a great actress'. But their perception of me has changed; now they can accept anything from me as an actor," she added.
Kangana states that she has no desire to rush and sign one film after another. "I feel secure in my place. I feel like what I am doing is what I deserve to do, and no one else can take it away from me even if I say (to a filmmaker), 'Okay fine, will you wait until mid next year (to cast me in your film)?'. This is the real change versus the time I would say, 'Okay fine I will give you 20 days' and jump on to other set and divide my time and focus," she added.
The actress also adds that she has become more responsible as she wants to give attention to one film at a time.
"I am going to do one film at a time. I am not going to do all together. In the past I could have done that, but I won't do it anymore. As I said, it's time to work on my own terms," she smiles and says it all.
