The 35-year-old rapper is currently working on his seventh solo album, The Renaissance Project, which is due for release later this year.

The award-winning artist says his upcoming album is very honest, which he likes as he thinks there is not enough emotion in todays chart music.

Its just a real artistic, personal vibe on the album. I just wanted to do me and express myself through my music. I feel that there has been a shortage of it within the industry, of artists just really expressing how they feel and coming from wherever their heart takes them and just putting it into their music, kinda like leaving it all out on the floor, like a ballplayer would do in a championship game or something like that, he told Hip Hop Weekly. Thats how Im taking this right now. This is a big album for me and I want everyone to be definitely impressed with it.

Ja Rule says his album is sincere. The hip-hop artist doesnt care what people say about him, as long as they appreciate the honesty he puts into his records.

My music was always sincere. When I look at it at the end of the day, people can say what they want about me but listen to the music and love the music. It aint really about me. Its about what I do for you as a fan, as the people, he explained. (C) Cover Media
