The cat is finally out of the bag. Kamal Haasan’s much delayed ‘Viswaroopam’ will hit the floors today, as the actor will start shooting for the film on a grand set erected at Old Mahabalipuram Road on the outskirts of Chennai.

Directed by Kamal himself, ‘Viswaroopam’ was initially to be directed by Selvaraghavan. However the filmmaker walked out of the project to complete his other venture, ‘Mayakkam Enna’, following which Kamal decided to wield the megaphone himself.

According to latest information, Anushka has been roped in by Kamal to play the heroine. “Kamal feels Anushka a safe bet since she is popular in south and the film is to be simultaneously made in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi,” sources say.

Initially, Sonakshi Sonha was said to be the heroine of ‘Viswaroopam’. However, she opted out of the film since it got delayed. After that, names of various other actresses were considered before Kamal finally settled for Anushka.
