(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Katy Perry and husband Russell Brand have splashed out 4 million on a spacious new home to "start a family".

The couple, who have been married since October 2010, are reportedly planning to have children within the next couple of years and have upgraded their home for a bigger mansion to suit a family.

The 26-year-old popstar and her comedian husband have openly spoken about their desire to have children in the past.

"They want somewhere bigger because over the next couple of years, they are planning to start a family," a source told British newspaper The News Of The World.

Katy and Russell have chosen an 8,835 square foot Hollywood mansion for their family home.

The property boasts a giant swimming pool, massive cinema and games rooms and a rock waterfall and has been used as a set for US TV series.

Katy, who is currently travelling the world on her California Dreams tour, and Russell, who is busy filming Rock Of Ages in Miami, are set to move into their new home when their hectic schedules allow. (C) Cover Media
