(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Kiefer Sutherland made his Broadway debut yesterday.

The 44-year-old Canadian hunk has enjoyed a long-lasting career in TV and film, and is best known for his role playing Jack Bauer in hit US television series 24.

The stars latest venture is theatre work, with Kiefer making his stage debut on New Yorks iconic Broadway theatre district yesterday.

Appearing at The Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre in New York, Kiefer stars alongside Chris Noth, Jason Patric, Brian Cox and Jim Gaffigan in That Championship Season.

Written by late American actor-and-playwright Jason Miller, the play is set at a basketball coachs house, and sees a reunion occur between the members of a former Catholic high school team.

Kiefer portrays James Daley, a bitter school principal, and his role is rather different to that of suave Jack Bauer. According to NPR, the character is unappreciated, and is even missing some teeth.

The play is due to run until May 29 this year. (C) Cover Media
