Kolkata Police starts a case against Shilpa Shetty

After receiving a complaint from a Kolkata based company of investing Rs. 9 crore in a business run by Shilpa Shetty, the cops have started a case against the actress.

The police official handling the case said that Shilpa Shetty and Ripu Sudan Kundra of ESPL had taken worth Rs. 9 crore from M K Media Private Limited representative and promised him to give returns 10 times the invested amount. Besides this, they also gave him 30lakh equity shares of ESPL.

A senior official from Kolkata police said, "This is a court cognizance case, and we have started an investigation into the case."

The complainant has earlier filed a suit against them in Calcutta HC for the repayment of the invested amount. The case has been registered under various sections of the IPC.
