Lily Collins: It's weird seeing my posters

21st March 2012

Lily Collins says she is still getting used to her celebrity and finds it "weird" seeing her posters.

The 23-year-old daughter of rock legend Phil Collins stars in upcoming movie Mirror Mirror opposite Julia Roberts.

But she told Pop Tarts that she embraces seeing her image even if it is a little awkward.

"It's still really weird just seeing the posters," she told the site. "But I am so proud of this movie, I just love the message of it, so when I see myself I just see all the experiences we had on set, so I am almost just seeing my life on screen not a movie."

"It depends picture to picture what I feel when I watch myself, and it's a little weird. It isn't normal; there is nothing normal about looking at yourself on a big screen. But you learn to become more comfortable with it."

Lily says that she hopes young girls take a special message from the film and says her character, Snow White, "learns to believe in herself and love herself" which she hopes everyone call relate to.

"[Girls] can do as much as boys can," Lily said. "They can save the prince just as much as he can save you."

"It's not about the physical beauty that counts, it is what is inside that should propel you forward and knowing that you have the ability to do whatever you put your mind to."

Lily added that working with co-star Armie Hammer was fantastic as they got to do some interesting things.

"Armie and I were training for about four months, sword fighting and fencing, wrestling and martial arts," Lily said. "It was all these crazy things that we never thought we would be able to do."

"A lot of bruises, I was pretty black and blue, but it was all good because I knew I was working hard."
