Lindsay Lohan in a positive place

26th November 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Lindsay Lohan decided not to appear in Inferno because it would be self-destructive, according to a close family friend.

Lindsay is currently being treated at the Betty Ford Center in California, where she checked in after failing two court-ordered drug tests while on probation. She has been ordered by a judge to stay in the facility until January 3 2011.

Prior to her stint in rehab she was cast as adult star Linda Lovelace in Inferno, which will trace the life of the Deep Throat actress, a 70s porn star who went on to become a feminist anti-porn activist.

Writer and director Matthew Wilder initially insisted the movie was fully supporting Lindsay and would wait to commence shooting until she was ready, but he recently admitted the star was no longer involved in the project. He claimed she would be impossible to insure, with Malin Akerman taking the part instead.

Sources close to Lindsay immediately insisted it was actually her who had decided not to be involved, and Ethan Terra who is friends with the Lohan family and co-owns Lindsays mother Dinas production company has now opened up about her choice.

Its not fair in any way, shape, or form for those reports to be out there. Lindsay is 100% insurable, all she had to do was put up a fee as a bond then she would have been paid upon completion. I could insure her today, Ethan Terra told Pop Tarts. She was definitely not fired.

Lindsay and her team decided that a film like this would be counterproductive. When she takes on a role she really becomes the character, and right now she is surrounded by nothing but positivity, so putting her back into a negative frame of mind would be very self-destructive. When she signed on to that role she was surrounded by negativity, and now shes in a much stronger and more positive place.

Ethan added Lindsay currently has a mountain of scripts to read as she is so in demand. The star is currently focussing on getting well, but when she is better she will dive straight back into acting. (C) Cover Media
