Lindsay Lohan has reportedly been questioned over an alleged burglary.

The actress spent time answering police questions regarding an apparent theft at a Hollywood home at the weekend.

According to TMZ, Lindsay "slept over at the home in question Sunday night after a small get together - along with several guests - and when everyone woke up this morning, the owner of the home claimed expensive jewellery had been stolen from the property."

Lindsay was one of the people interviewed by law enforcement officials as she was inside at the time. Police also questioned everyone else at the property.

The US website maintains that Lindsay "was very cooperative" but protested her innocence, claiming she had "nothing to do with any missing jewellery."

Lindsay is not considered a suspect as of now and the investigation regarding the alleged stolen jewellery is on-going.

Lindsay is famed for her troubled past with the law. The 26-year-old star found herself in hot water last year when she breached the terms of her probation stemming from her no contest plea in a necklace theft case.

Lindsay was also involved in a car crash this year in which she wrecked a hired Porsche on the Pacific Coast Highway.
