Love Bird

After 'Thulladha Manamum Thullum', 'Poovellam Un Vasam' and 'Deepavali', Ezhil makes a comeback with 'Manam Kothi Paravai', which is a light hearted romantic entertainer. The movie is a perfect mix of love, humour and sentiments.

The rib tickling comedy alone makes the movie a worth watch. Even though it does not go on the common lines of glam sham or any other so called commercial element, Manam Kothi Parvai manages to strike chord.

Manam Kothi Paravai

The star cast of the movie is its major strength. Siva Karthikeyan and Athmiya pair, with their good onscreen chemistry and looks give a heart winning performance. While the entourage: Ilavarasu, Parotta Suri and Singam Puli make the movie an enjoyable ride.

The story revolves around Kannan (Siva Karthikeyan) who is in love with his neighbor Revathy (Athmiya). While Kannan helps out his father in their construction business, Revathy's father and uncles are known in the village for their violent ways. The tale takes a dramatic twist when Kannan comes to know that Revathy is soon to be married to an influential man. Hilarity ensues when Kannan’s friends (Parotta Suri, Singam Puli and 'Deiva Thirumagal' Kishore, Chams and others) jump to his rescue and kidnap Revathy to stop the marriage. However it all goes in vain when they find out that Revathy does not feel the same way for Kannan. Kannan’s attempts to win Revathy’s heart forms the rest of the story.

Siva Karthikeyan has given a commendable performance whereas Athnmiya makes a good debut in Tamil Cinema. Suraj Nallusamy’s cinematography captures the beauty of rural Tamil Nadu in all its glory, while D. Imman’s music simply adds to the beauty and simplicity of the film.

On the flipside there are a few scenes that can be called clichéd or predictable, but still Ezhil manages to make a decent comeback. That’s the power of humour.
